The course provides a comprehensive overview of the biology of animals that are in close association with humans, including food animals, companion animals and zoo animals. The main topics will emphasize fundamental concepts of animal anatomy and physiology, animal nutrition and growth, animal breeding and selection, animal health and management, ecology and behavior, diversity and evolution, as well as applications in care and use of specific animal species and phyla. Prerequisite: BIOL131 and BIOL132.
