Psychology 259 --Abnormal Psychology; I noticed that a number of students signed up for the course are also enrolled in Psych 301--neither of these courses requires an Abnormal Psych course as a pre-requisite. Psych 259 does not require a Psych course as a prerequisite.

The courses were developed for different audiences--Psych 259 is required for CJ and counts as a concentration elective for the Psych major. Psych 301 was originally developed for Education students but has been taken by students in a variety of disciplines as an elective or for the psych minor.

I am fine with students taking both courses--since the DSM 5 often uses same criteria for adults and children, there is some overlap and repetition between the courses
